The End

What story has the most suspense “Cask of Amontillado” or “The most dangerous game”?

October 12th, 2011

The Cask of Amontillado is not really suspenseful. “The cough is a mere nothing; it will not kill me. I shall not die of a cough.”  Some suspense can be seen, but not much. and It can be seen from the beginning of the story that he wants this mans life. Its just that this story is too predictable, thus un-suspenseful.

The Most dangerous game has lots of the suspense. For example “The general’s eyes had left the ground and were traveling inch by inch up the tree.’ When reading the story there is an aura of dread in each word. The dread is coming from the fact that men who are forced to be a beast are scary to the sight. As a result it makes you want o know what happens next.

The End

The bass, the river, and Sheila Mant

    September 12th, 2011

The climax of this story is the moment he is faced with a choice, the girl or the fish.  He has a fish on the line, a big fish, and smokin hot chick in the boat. Now he has to decide wether he wants a huge fish (that might break records) or try his luck to get the girl.

While i was reading this book there was a big question i had, “Why dude she is out of your league, if you catch the fish you have it for life, so why did you cut the line?”

The major conflict was the character vs. self. Why i think this is because he loves the girl and loves the size of this fish.

He views her as the center of his world, he loves her with almost all his heart. I do not agree with this. I think this because he is young and does not know anything about girls yet.

I think the Narrator learned that girls are not always worth the sacrifice. Some girls are worth sacrificeing  a little of your life and soul for, some (like sheila mant) are not worth it.
